DR. ERICA R. HURSEY
RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 COMMISSIONER – SEAT 4
Dr. Ericka R. has been an educator for over 28 years and enjoys working with at-risk youth and developing leaders. Dr. Hursey earned a Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State University, a Master of Education from Cambridge College in Massachusetts, a Master of Education and Educational Specialist from the University of South Carolina, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seton
Hall University in New Jersey.
Her professional career includes being a Teacher, Assistant Principal, Adult Education Director, and Principal. Her experience includes working with students from all socioeconomic backgrounds to include Title One Schools. She has been successful in school turnaround. Dr. Hursey has retired from K-12 education.
She is married to Karl M. Hursey, and they have two sons, Christian and Karson.
